SUB: TRAINING ON ORGANIC AND BIODYNAMIC FARMING

Date: 27th to 30th  April 2010

Venue: Hare krishna Nature Farm, Mahadevpura Village (20 KM from Mysore), Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya Dist.

 

BASIL is the academic wing of ISKCON Bangalore’s rural development programme, Eco-Agri Research Foundation (EARF).  The past decade has seen an increased awareness of the dangers to health and life caused by exploitative, selfish commercial interests worldwide – especially the consumption of poison in the name of food and the deterioration of a wholesome lifestyle, far removed from Nature.   To address this issue, BASIL aims to facilitate a Society in Harmony with Nature, by Integrating Quality and Prosperity in a Sustainable Lifestyle – Quality Soil, Quality Practice, Quality Processing & Quality End Product. 

 

In order to facilitate these goals, BASIL is conducting training courses in Organic and Biodynamic farming Systems.  This Training will benefit Farmers, Corporate Managers and Laymen & women through an introduction to the Skills, Holistic Vision and Simple Lifestyle that this New Agriculture promotes.

 

Major Subjects Covered in this Training are:

  • Need to go Organic
  • Redefine our agricultural System
  • Methods to be adopted for Conservation
  • Crop Plans

 
  • Alternative inputs
  • Marketing and social aspects
  • Biodynamic farming

           

 

An experienced group of resource persons from various backgrounds and expertise will conduct this Training.

 

It is a 4-day training programme, with food and accommodation provided to the participants. To defray part of the expenditure incurred in organizing the programme, a participation fee of Rs 3,500/- per participant will be charged. The amount can be paid by way of DD in favour of  Eco-Agri Research Foundation, payable at Mysore.
